Daemoniac/Spawn of The Fallen/Xtreem Music/2017 CD Review

  Daemoniac  are  a  band  from  Italy  that  plays  a  Swedish  influenced  form  of  old  school  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2017  album  "Spawn  Of  The  Fallen"  which  was  released  by  Xtreem  Music.

  A  very  dark  sounding  intro  starts  off  the  album  bringing  in  the  atmosphere  of  a  horror  movie  before  going  into  a  very  fast, r aw  and  melodic  musical  direction  that  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  brutal  blast  beats  as  well  as  introducing  death  metal  growls  onto  the  recording  and  the  music  is  very  heavily  rooted  in  the  early  90's  Swedish  style.

  All  of  the  songs  sound  like  they  could  of  easily  been  recorded  and  released  more  than  20  years  ago  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  high  pitched  screams  can  be  heard  in  certain  sections  of  the recording  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  none  of  the  songs  ever  bring  in  any  guitar  solos  or  leads  and  another  horror  movie  orientated  intro  is  also  used  later  on  during  the  recording  before  returning  back  to  a  heavier  direction and they  close  the  album  with  a  cover  of  Macrodex's  "Cremation.

  Daemoniac  plays  a  style  of  death  metal  that  is  very  raw  and  old  school  in  the  90's  Swedish  tradition,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness,  horror  and  anti  Christian  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Daemoniac  are  a  very  great  sounding  old  school  death  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Regurgitate  From  Hell"  "Spawn  Of  the  Fallen"  and  "Upon  Golgotha".  8  out  of  10.

Pestifer/Execration Diatribes/Lavadome Productions/2017 CD Review

  Pestifer  are  a  band  from  Portugal  that  plays  a  very  brutal  and  satanic  form  of  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2017  album  "Execration  Diatribes"  which  will  be  released  in  February  by  Lavadome  Productions.

  An  orchestra  style  intro  starts  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  very fast  and  brutal  direction  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  and  the  vocals  are  mostly  death  metal  growls  along  with  some  high  screams  and  the  riffs  also  bring  in  a  decent  amount  of  morbid  sounding  melodies  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  When guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  bring  in  more  of  a  dark  and  old  school  style  of  death  metal  while  also  having  its  melodic  moments  at  times  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts and  the  tracks  bring  in  a  great  amount  of  influences  up  from  the  early  90's  to  modern  times  and  one  of  the  tracks  is  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

  Pestifer  plays  a  style  of  death  metal  that  is very  dark,  heavy,  aggressive  and  brutal  sounding,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Occultism,  Darkness,  and  Anti  Christian  themes,.

  In  my  opinion  Pestifer  are  a  very  great  sounding  brutal  death  metal  band  and  if  you are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Mars  Exult"  "Enslavement  Of  God"  and  "Confront  Death".  8  out  of  10.

Infatuation Of Death/Bestial Devilized Hell/2005 Demo Review

  This  is  the  final  review  of  a  recording  from  Poland's  Infatuation  Of  Death  for  the  time  with  the  music  also  being  in  a  very  brutal  and  blasphemous  style  of  death  metal  and  the  demo  was  self  released  in  2006  and  called "Bestial  Devilized  Hell".

  A very  dark  and  ritualistic  intro  starts  off  the  demo  along  with  some  horror  movie  style  keyboards  and  the  guitar  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  fashion  and  after  the  intro  the  music  starts  getting  a  lot  more  heavier  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard.

  Vocals  are  mostly  deep  death metal  growls  along  with  a  few  screams  and  you  can  also  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  the  recording  and  the riffs  also  bring  in  a  great  amount  of  morbid  sounding  melodies  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  there  is  also  a  brief  use  of  porno  samples  and  spoken  word  parts.

  Infatuation  Of  Death  remained  very  true  to  the  brutal  and  blasphemous  style  of  death  metal  from  their  previous  recordings  on  the  demo,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  for  being  a  self  released  recording  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness,  Satanism  and  Anti  religion  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  demo  from  Infatuation  Of  Death  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  brutal  death  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Bestial  Devillized  Hell"  and  "Anal  Christ  Euphoria".  8  out  of  10.

Infatuation Of Death/Heretic Hellspawn Holocaust/2003 Demo Review

  This  is  another  review of  a recording  from  Infatuation  Of  Death  which  displays  their  early  brutal  death  metal  sound  with  the  demo being  self  released  in  2003  and  called  "Heretic  Hellspawn  Holocaust".

  A  horror  movie  style  intro  starts  off  the  demo  along  with  some  evil  laughter  samples  and  after  the  intro  the  music  goes  for  more  of  a  heavier  direction  and  the  riffs  also  bring  in  a  decent  amount  of  morbid  sounding  melodies  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  deep  death  metal  growls  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard.

  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the recording  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them and  high  pitched  screams  can  also  be  heard  in  certain  sections  of  the  recording  and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  none  of  the  songs  bring  in  guitar  solos  or  leads  and  other  than  the  intro  the  songs  stick  to  a  very  brutal  style.

  Infatuation  Of  Death  on  this  recording  played  a  style  of  death  metal  that  was  very  brutal  for  its  time  and  still  does  not  sound  out  of  date,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  for  being  a  self  released  recording  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness  and  anti  christian  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Infatuation  Of  Death  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  brutal  death  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  demo.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Heretic  Hellspawn  Holocaust"  and  "Fucking  Hard  The  Lambs  Of  Christ".  8  out  of  10.

  Infatuation  Of  Death  are  a  band  from  Poland  that  plays  a  very  brutal  form  of  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2016  album  "Code  Of  Impiety"  which  was  released  by  Defense  Records.

  Dark  sounding  keyboards  start  off  the  album  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  brutal  musical  direction  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  melody  and  the  vocals  are  mostly  high  pitched  screams  and  you  can  also  hear  a  decent  amount  of  melody  in  the  guitar  riffing  and  after  awhile  death  metal  growls  make  their  presence  known.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  hear  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while t he  solos  and  leads  also  demonstrate  a  great  amount  of  talent  and  skill  and  the  music  is  more  rooted  in  the  brutal  style  of  the  mid  90's  and  2000's  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them and  there  is  also  a  brief  use  of  spoken  word  parts  and  one  track  also  brings  in  a  small  amount  of  clean  guitars.

  Infatuation Of  Death  plays  a  style  of  death  metal  that  is  very  brutal  in  the  Polish  tradition  bringing  back  some  of that  style,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness  and  anti  religion  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Infatuation  Of  Death  are  a  very  great  sounding  brutal  death  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Left  To  The  World"  "Unblessed"  "Icons  Of  Impurity"  and  "T.A.P.O.S.M.a".  8  out  of  10.

Cryptic Realms/Enraptured By Horror/DeathIn Pieces Records/Iron, Blood And Death Corp/2016 CD Review

  Cryptic  Realms  are  an  international  band  that h as  been  featured  before  in  this  zine  with  members  from  Mexico,  Greece,  Brazil  and  The  United  States  that  plays  an  old  school  form  of  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2016  album  "Enraptured  By  Horror"  which  was  released  as  a  joint  effort  by  Death  In  Pieces  Records  and  Iron,  Blood  And  Death  Corp.

  Distorted  sounds  and  bells  start  off  the  album  before  going  into  more  of  a  dark  and  heavier  direction  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  morbid  sounding  melodies  while  the  vocals  are  ostly  death  metal  growls  and  the  music  is  more  rooted  in  the  mid  80's  and  early  90's  era  of  the   genre  and  the  solos  and  leads  are  very  dark  and  melodic.

  All of  the  songs  sound  like  they  could  of  easily  been  recorded  and  released  more  than  25  years  ago  and  when t he  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard  and  there  is  also  a  brief  use  of  spoken  word  parts  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them and  the  songs  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast parts.

  Cryptic  Realms  creates  another  recording t hat  remains  true  to  the  old  school  style  of  death  metal  of  their  previous  releases,  the  production  has  a  very  vintage  early  90's  sound  while  the  lyrics  cover  death,  the  undead  and  gore  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Cryptic  Realms  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  old  school  death  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Doomed  Cathedrals"  "Sinister  Force  Descends"  and  "Act  Of  Derengement".  8  out  of  10.

  Nex  are  a  band  from  Poland  that  plays  an  modern  form  of  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review of  their  self  released  2015  ep  "Totalitarian  Leader".

  Distorted  effects  start  off  the  ep  giving  the  music  a  sci-fi  atmosphere  along  with  some  elements  of  electronic  music  before  going  into  a  heavier  direction  which  also  introduces  death  metal  growls  onto  the  recording  and  when  the  music  speeds  up  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  can  be  heard  and  the  riffs  also  use  a  decent  amount  of  melody.

  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  the  music  also  has  its  brutal  moments  and  the  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  fashion  and  throughout  the  recording  you  can  hear  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast parts  and  some  old  school  influences  can  also  be  heard  at  times  and  spoken  word  samples a re  added  onto  the  last  track.

  Nex  plays  a  style  of  death  metal  that  is  very  modern  while  also  being  very  different  from  most  of  the  genre,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  for  being  a  self  released  recording  while  the  lyrics  cover  anti  religion  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Nex  are  a  very  great  sounding  modern  death  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Slaves  In  the  Name  Of  The  Law".  8  out  of  10.
