Baring Teeth are a band from Texas that plays a very progressive and technical form of death metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "Ghost Chorus Among Old Ruins" which will be released on November 25th by Willowtip.
A very dark and distorted sound starts off the album bringing in a post hardcore feeling along with some melodies and a progressive feeling which also leads up to death metal growls being added into the music and after the intro the music really starts going for more of a progressive death metal style.
You can hear a lot of avant garde elements in the bands musical sound at times along with some blast beats being added into certain sections of the recording and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the music starts adding in more brutality on the later tracks as well as bringing in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and throughout the album you can hear a great amount of talent and skill the way the band approaches theri instruments and the band also brings in a couple of long and epic tracks as well as a small amount of clean playing.
Baring Teeth plays a style of technical death metal that is very original and progressive sounding while also adding in some avant garde influences and elements from the darker side of post hardcore to create a very different yet heavy style, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Baring Teeth are a very great sounding progressive, technical death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Mountain" "Dripping Sun" and "Ghost Chorus Among old Ruins". 8 out of 10.
