Deity are a duo from Toronto, Canada that plays a brutal form of death metal and this is a review of their self released 2017 album "Beginning Of Extinction" which will be released in June.
Tragic sounding pianos start off the album and after the intro the music goes into more of a heavier and brutal direction along with the faster sections of the songs utilizing a great amount of blast beats while the vocals are a mixture of death metal growls and high pitched screams.
Some of the tracks are very long and epic in length and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the solos and leads also remain true to a traditional death metal style and both the riffs and leads also use a decent amount of melody and a couple of tracks are all instrumental while a later song introduces acoustic guitars onto the recording.
Deity plays a style of death metal that is very brutal and traditional sounding, the production sound s very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover dark and violent themes.
In my opinion Deity are a very great sounding brutal death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Beginning Of Extinction" "Rituals" and "In Turmoil(We Rise)". 8 out of 10.
