Mortor are a band from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada that plays a mixture of death and thrash metal and this is a review of their self released 2012 "Shoot 'Em Up".
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being thrown into the music at times, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful tone with heavy riffing that dominates throughout the recording.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine death and thrash metal together to create a sound of their own with some groove elements being added to the riffing at times, while the lead guitars are very old school sounding death/thrash metal guitar solos and leads.
Vocals are all deep death metal growls that are very easy to understand, while the lyrics cover violent, hateful and everyday themes, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound for being a self released recording and you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Mortor are a very great sounding hybrid of death and thrash metal and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Under The Flag" "Clusterfuck" "Point Blank" and "Let's Deflagerate". RECOMMENDED BUY.
