Warmaster are a band from the Netherlands that plays a mid paced form of old school death metal and this is a review of their 2013 album "The End of Humanity" which was released as a joint effort between Dead Beat Media and Slaughterhouse Records.
"Massive Kill Capacity" begins with some spoken word and movie samples and serves as an intro for the album.
"Nuclear Warfare" begins with some heavy old school death metal guitar riffs, drums and growls and then the music starts switching back and forth between slow and mid paced parts as well as adding in some high pitched screams in certain sections.
"Deadly Artillery" begins with some heavy and mid paced guitar riffs, drums, growls and screams and then the song starts switching back and forth between slow and mid paced parts as well as adding in some melodies in certain parts of the song.
"Death Factory" begins with some melodic guitar riffing and drums before the music slows down and starts adding in some growls and then the song starts switching back and forth between mid paced and slow parts as well as mixing in some screams and guitar leads.
"The Target" begins with some heavy and melodic guitar riffs and drums and then the growls kick in and the music gets slightly faster and then the song starts switching back and forth between mid paced and slow parts as well as adding in some melodic riffing in certain parts and towards the end there is a brief spoken word sample.
"Lies To Deny" begins with some heavy guitar riffs and drums along with some growls shortly after that the music starts switching back and forth between slow and mid paced parts as well as adding in some faster riffing, blast beats and guitar solos towards the end.
"Barbarians" begins with a powerful bass lead before the heavy guitar riffs, drums and growls start kicking in and after awhile some spoken word parts are adding into t he song as well as the song switching back and forth between slow and mid paced parts.
"Poison Dwarf" begins with some heavy guitar riffs, drums and deep growls before the song speeds up and adds in some melodic riffing and screams before slowing down for awhile and then the music speeds up again and adds in some guitar leads before returning to a slower sound.
"Ancient Anthem" begins with some war movie samples which lead to some folk instruments and clean singing female vocals.
"Medestrijders Voor Volk En Vanderland" begins with heavy and melodic guitar riffs which lead to some drums and death metal growls and then t he music starts getting alot more heavier and a minute later there is a brief use of guitar solos and leads being utilized before t he music starts getting slightly more fast in certain sections.
"Destroyer of Worlds" begins with a spoken word sample before the heavy guitar and bass riffs come in which in return leads to some drums and growls and after a couple of minutes it starts adding in some more mid paced elements as well as a small amount of melodic guitar leads.
Song lyrics cover violence and war themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy, old school and professional sound to it.
In my opinion Warmaster are a very great sounding mid paced, old school death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out t his album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Nuclear Warfare" "The Target" "Poison Dwarf" and "Destroyer of Worlds". RECOMMENDED BUY.
