Horricane are a band from Estonia that plays a style of death metal with horror movie style keyboards and this is a review of their self released 2015 ep "Synthetic Forms".
A very heavy guitar sound starts off the ep along with some melodic riffing along with some clean singing and death metal growls and screams a few seconds later and after awhile keyboards become a part of the music and takes the music into more of an atmospheric direction and you can also hear a touch of modern metal.
When solos and leads are added into the music they are done in a very dark and melodic fashion and a couple of the tracks are long and epic in length and spoken word samples can also be heard in the music at times and a touch of industrial can also b e heard in certain sections of the recording while the music sticks to mostly a mid paced direction. and as the ep progresses there is a few seconds of clean singing and blast beats.
Horricane plays a musical style that is mostly rooted in death metal but also adds in modern metla a nd industrial elements along with keyboards which makes their music stand out a bit more, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Horricane are a very great sounding keyboard orientated death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Synthetic Forms" and "Leper nation". 8 out of 10.
