Brood of Hatred are a band from Tunisia that plays a very heavy form of death metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "Skinless Agony" which was released by Crime Records.
The album starts out with dark sounding synths before going into a heavier direction along with growls and all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them as well as some melody which also leads to faster parts and blast beats being mixed in with the slower parts as well as bringing in solos.
As the album continues the band bring in a brutal death metal sound while also adding technical elements to their music along with melodic guitar leads along with a small amount of sci-fi sound effects and the band for the most part sticks to a mid paced direction while they also have their fast moments and blast beats at times and they also bring in a brief instrumental which also has spoken word parts before returning to their death metal sound while also having a brief use of clean playing being utilized in a couple of their songs.
With this album Brood of hatred stick to a more heavy and mid paced direction of death metal and while they do not really have a very original sound they make up for it by being talented musicians and there ability to put in progressive, technical and melodic elements in t he music which are their main strengths.
Song lyrics cover philosophical and anti religion themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording as well as a couple of the songs being long and epic in length.
In my opinion Brood of hatred are a very decent sounding death metal band with a progressive and experimental edge and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Deconsruction" "Cacophony In the Creation" "Skinless Agony" and "Obsession". 7/5 out of 10.
