1.Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?
We're both on the road promoting our latest record "Post Mortem Nihil Est" and composing the next one.
Very exciting time !
2.Your last album came out a year ago, can you tell us a little bit more about the musical direction of that recording and also how does it differ from your previous releases?
This record is the more constrated of our discography, very dark, heavy, and at the same time it contains the most lightened part we ever wrote. I'm very proud of it, as I'm pretty
open minded concerning metal, and putting all these different parts in the same music seems very extreme too me. and I love being extreme.
3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects you explore with your music?
this one is talking about death, atheism, nostalgy. and wandering if "Post Mortem Nihil Est" ("There's nothing after death")
4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Dagoba'?
Master Yoda of course !! The Force ! and we wanted to end our band name by an "A" wish is very 90's, our roots.
5.What are some of the best shows that the band has played over the years and also how would you describe your stage performance?
playing with Metallica was a big deal ! because I'm a very big fan of the band, and because we had the chance to talk with James and the other guys. Good memories for sure. but we just headlined
a very cool venue in Paris ("Le Bataclan") where very big name are supposed to play (a couple of years ago we opened the show for Stone Sour there) and this was very emotional.
while on stage, we give everything we got, we just love rocking, and our crowd is totally crazy ! we feel privilegies to live this life...
6.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?
of course, we're planing summer festival in Europe, and with chance we'll be back in the US asap.
7.The last album came out on Verycords, can you tell us a little bit more about that label?
the metal responsable of our previous label (XIII Bis), moved there, and really wanted us to join the new team, so...
it's important to feel desired by a label, and to work with guys that feel part of the band.
8.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of extreme metal?
very good ! in november we were in the USA with Dir en Grey, and the crowd went mad there !! it's been many years now that we're on the road through Europe and further,
so people start to know about us.
10.When can we expect a new album and also what musical direction do you see the music heading into during the future?
We composed 90% of the next album, and for sure it's gonna be the most brutal shit we ever played ! can't wait to record it !
11.What are some bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
80's, 90's metal band like Pantera, Metallica...but also the scandinavian black metal scene, and great classical music.
12.What are some of your interests outside of music?
spearfishing and fitness.
13.Before we wrap up this interview do you have any final words or thoughts?
