Diskord are a band from Norway that plays a very technical school form of death metal and this is a review of their 2014 ep "Oscillation" which was released by Hellthrasher Productions.
A very technical and old school death metal sound starts off the ep along with some blast beats and good mixture of growls and screams and all of the musical instruments have a very dominant presence on this recording and the band also brings in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
A good amount of melody can be heard in the music and the bands musical style is more closer to the Atheist, Cynic and Pestillence style of 80's technical death metal than the modern variation and the solos and leads they use display a great amount of talent and skill and as the ep progresses a brief use of progressive sounds are added into their musical style while the main focus remains on a heavier musical style and you can also hear a great amount of rawness in the guitar riffing at times.
Diskord go back to the beginning days of technical death metal and bring out a style that is very old school yet progressive at the same time, the production has a very old school and professional sound while the lyrics cover obscure, abstract and void themes.
In my opinion Diskord are a very great sounding technical death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Lethargic Regression" and "Symbiotic Whims". 8 out of 10.
