Pokerface are a band from Russia that plays a mixture of death and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Divide And Rule" which was released by Molot Records.
Synths and acoustic guitars start off the album before introducing chaotic sounding guitar leads onto the recording as well as some aggressive thrash metal rhythms and the vocals are in a screaming fashion along with a good amount of death metal growls and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and spoken word parts can also be heard briefly and the music also brings in more of a modern style of deatyh/thrash and one track also brings in a few seconds of melodic singing and the whole album also remains very heavy from beginning to ending of the recording.
Pokerface plays a musical style that takes a German style of thrash metal and mixes it with death metal and a more modern sound to create a style of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover satanism, anti religion, aggression and blood themes.
In my opinion Pokerface are a very great sounding mixture of death and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Kingdom Of Hate" "Into The Inferno" "Killed By Me" and "Divide And Rule". 8 out of 10.,
