Psycho Scream are a band from Italy that plays a progressive mixture of death and thrash metal and this is a review of their self released 2016 album "Gnosis".
A very hard and heavy sound starts off the album along with some aggressive screaming vocals that are in between thrash and death metal and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard and the music also goes for more of a modern approach to the death and thrash metal genres.
When solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic fashion and also add a touch of traditional metal to the recording and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the riffs also bring in a decent amount of melody and they also mix in some old school influences into the modern style.
As the album progresses the solos and leads also start getting more progressive while classical guitars can also be heard at times and some of the fast riffs also utilize a small amount of tremolo picking and one track also brings in a brief use of melodic singing while an instrumental is used almost at the end of the recording and a couple of tracks are long and epic in length.
Psycho Scream plays a musical style that takes progressive, death and thrash metal and mixes them together to create a very heavy sounding recording, the production sounds very professional for being a self released album while the lyrics cover dark and philosophical themes.
In my opinion Psycho Scream are a very great sounding progressive mixture of death and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out t his band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Anger" "Human" "Terrorist" and "Right And Wrong". 8 out of 10.
