Diatonic are a solo project from Sweden that plays a Swedish style of death metal and this is a review of his 2016 album "I Am The One" which will be released in November by Triton's Orbit.
A dark sound starts off the album before going into more of a heavier and melodic musical direction that is mostly rooted in the 90's Swedish style and after awhile death metal growls are added onto the recording and the solos and leads also use a great amount of melody and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
High pitched screams can be heard in certain sections of the recording and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard while the music mostly sticks to a mid paced section and the songs sound like they could of been recorded 20 years ago and there is also a brief use of synths and one track also brings in a brief use of acoustic guitars while the main focus remains more on a heavier style.
Diatonic plays a style of death metal that is mostly mid tempo and heavily rooted in the 90's Swedish style, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark, angry and hateful themes.
In my opinion Diatonic are a very great sounding Swedish style death metal solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Kiss Of Death" "Once More" "Fading" and "Deceived". 8 out of 10.
