Necroven are a band from Spain that plays a very dark and cryptic form of death metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Primordial Subjugation" which will be released on October 24th by Memento Mori.
Ritualistic sounds and whispers start off the album along with some death metal growls a few seconds later which also leads up to a faster and heavier musical direction along with some very brutal blast beats and the riffs also bring in a great amount of morbid sounding melodies and the music is very heavily rooted in the 90's.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very dark and melodic style and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and some modern influences can also be heard at times and some of the fast riffs also bring in a decent amount of tremolo picking and a couple of the tracks are very long and epic in length and there is also a brief use of ritualistic and shamanistic type chanting and synths are also used on the last track and bring in the atmosphere of a horror movie.
Necroven plays a style of death metal t hat is more in the darker style of the genre while also bring very heavy at the same time, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Witchcraft, Occultism, Near Death Experiences and Gore themes.
In my opinion Necroven are a very great sounding dark and cryptic death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Sacrificial Deliverance" "Esoteric Entropy" and "Serpents Crawl Stealthy". 8 out of 10.
