Scorched are a band from Delaware that plays a very old school form of death metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Echoes Of Dismemberment" which will be released in November by Unspeakable Axe Records.
Horror movie style synths start off the album and after the intro melodic guitar leads and heavy riffs make their presence known on the recording along with some death metal growls and the music is very heavily rooted in the 90's and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and most of the songs have horror movie style intros in between them and the songs sound like they could of recorded and released 20 years ago and there is also a brief use of melodic singing and clean playing and spoken word parts can be heard briefly while the main focus remains more on a heavier sound.
Scorched plays a style of death metal that is very old school in the 90's tradition while also being heavily inspired by horror movies, t he production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover horror, gore, death, torture and cannibalism themes.
In my opinion Scorched are a very great sounding old school style death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Torture Prolonged" "Dealings Of A Gruesome Kind" "Autopsy Complete" and "Fluorescent Hell". 8 out of 10.
