Death Strike where a band from Chicago, Illinois and was one of the first bands that Paul Speckman played in before he went off and did several other bands with Master being the most well known one and the music he played for this project was primitive death/thrash and this is a review of their 1985 demo which was released by Dark Descent Records in 2011 with some bonus tracks.
Drums range from slow, midpaced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats, while the bass playing has a dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and at times they sound very powerful.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, midpaced to fast riffs that combine thrash metal with the beginnings of what death metal was going to evolve into, while the lead guitars are very distorted and primitive metal guitar solos, as for the accoustic guitars which are only utilized for a few seconds they bring a classical metal feel to the music.
Vocals are early death/thrash growls that where brutal for their time, while the lyrics cover hateful, war and anti-christian themes, as for the production it is very primitive and raw sounding and the bonus tracks where recorded live
In my opinion Death Strike where a very good death/thrash band for their time ansd if you are a fan of this style or any of Paul Speckman's other projects, you should check out this band. RECEMMONDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Truth" "The Final Conflict" "Pervert" and "Pray To Die". RECEMMONDED BUY..
