Poisonous are a band from Brazil that plays a very heavy, dark and evil form of early 90's style death metal and this is a review of their 201o album "Perdition's Den" which was originally released by Blood Harvest then re-issued by Metalhit.com in 2012 which was released by Metalhit.com.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars, as for the synths which are only utilized briefly they bring a very dark and ritualistic sound to the music.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast death metal riffs that are very dark, raw and primitive sounding the the mid 80's and early 90's tradition, while the lead guitars are very dark and primitive sounding old school death metal guitar leads.
Vocals are all deep demonic death metal growls as well as a brief use of spoken word ritualistic passages, while the lyrics cover dark, anti christian and occult themes, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound with the band going for more of the classic death metal sound instead of the more modern day technical approach.
In my opinion Poisonous are a very great sounding evil old school style death metal band and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Worthless Christ" "Demons" "Under The Blessing Of Death" and "The Black Vomit" which is a Sarcofago cover. RECOMMENDED BUY.
