Infected Chaos are a band from Germany that plays a very old school form of death metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "The Wake Of Ares" which will be released on March 27th by Metal Music Austria.
Classical guitar playing and whispers start off the album along with some whips and sorrowful screams and after the intro the music gets a lot more heavier and faster bringing in a Swedish influenced style of death metal that utilizes a great amount of growls and brutal blast beats and the solos and leads they also use are very chaotic yet melodic at the same time.
High pitched screams can be heard in certain sections of the recording along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the riffs also bring in a decent amount of melody at times and while the music has a 90's feeling the production gives the songs and music more of a modern day feeling and as the album progresses back up gang shouts and spoken word parts can be heard on some of the tracks.
Infected Chaos plays a style of old school death metal that is very heavily rooted in the early 90's Swedish tradition but done with a more modern and brutal take of the genre as well as being very dark and melodic, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover darkness and mythology themes.
In my opinion Infected Chaos are a very great sounding Swedish influenced death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Devours The Light" "Arson Anthem" "IA, God Of War" and "The Sea of Grief". 8 out of 10.
