Imperium are a band from the United Kingdom that plays a very technical and brutal form of death metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Titanomachy" which will be released in May by Ultimate Massacre Productions.
Atmospheric synths and battle sounds start off the album along with some female vocals a few seconds later and after the intro the music goes into more of a heavy and melodic musical direction along with soem technical riffing and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard.
Vocals are mostly deep death metal growls that get very guttural at times along with a few high pitched screams and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the solos and leads also remain true to a technical style of the genre and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and some songs also bring in a small amount of clean playing and acoustic guitars as well as a couple of brief instrumentals along with a touch of middle eastern music on some tracks while the main focus remains more on a heavy and brutal sound.
Imperium plays a style of death metal that is very technical and brutal while also having its own different approach to the genre, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Roman and Greek Mythology, Ancients and Wars.
In my opinion Imperium are a very great sounding technical and brutal death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Castrate The Father Of The Sky" "Into Abode Of The Dead" "Minos" and "Titanomachy". 8 out of 10.
