Uttertomb are a band from Chile that plays a very old school form of death metal and this is a review of their 2016 ep "Sempiternal" which will be released in April by Pulverised Records.
A very dark yet heavy sounds starts off the ep along with some drum beats and tremolo picking guitar leads a few seconds later and after a minute death metal growls make their presence known on the recording along with a few screams and the leads also start getting more dark, morbid and melodic sounding.
Most of the music is very heavily rooted in the 90's and when the music speeds up it brings in more of a raw style of t he genre along with a great amount of blast beats and Swedish influences and the songs also start bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while also remaining heavy from beginning to ending of the recording along with both tracks being long and epic in length.
Uttertomb plays a musical style that is very dark, heavy and old school while also adding in their own touch to create a style they call 'Necrological Death Metal', the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover death and darkness themes.
In my opinion Uttertomb are a very great sounding old school death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Excarnation". 8 out of 10.
