Omophogia are a band from Switzerland that plays a very brutal form of death metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "In The Name Of Chaos" which will be released in April by Unique Leader.
Dark sound effects and spoken word samples start off the album along with some programmed beats and after the intro the music starts going into more of a heavier direction along with some brutal blast beats and dark sounding melodies and after awhile death metal growls make their presence known on the recording.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they give the music more of a technical feeling and high pitched screams can also be heard in some parts of the songs and the tracks also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and there is also a brief use of war samples while a later track brings in a small amount of acoustic guitars while the main focus remains more on a heavy and brutal style and there is also a brief use of prog elements.
Omophagia plays a style of death metal that is very brutal while also being very technical at times and you can also hear a great amount of talent and skill present throughout the recording, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover violence and war themes.
In my opinion Omophagia are a very great sounding brutal and technical death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Willing Whore" "Love Song" and "Wheel In The Engine". 8 out of 10.
