Broken Brain are a band from Spain that plays a mixture of death metal, thrash and hardcore and this is a review of their self titled 2014 album which was re-issued in 2016 by Sepulchral Silence Records.
Horror movie samples start off the album and after the intro the music starts going into more of a heavier direction which uses melodic riffing and death metal growls while you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and you can also hear elements of thrash and hardcore in the bands musical style.
When the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard and the songs also bring in a perfect balance between both old school and modern extreme metal influences and the songs bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and there is only a small amount of guitar solos and leads and all of the tracks stick to a heavy musical direction.
Broken Brain plays a musical style that takes the old school styles of death metal, thrash and hardcore and mixes it in with some modern elements to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very heavy while the lyrics cover violence and horror themes.
In my opinion Broken Brain are a very great sounding mixture of death metal, thrash and hardcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Day Of the Dead" "Burn Away" and "Over The Edge". 8 out of 10.
