Cancerfaust are a band from Poland that plays a very old school form of death metal and this is a review of their self released 2016 ep "Killing Spree".
A very heavy yet melodic sound starts off the ep along with all of the musical instruments sounding very powerful and the vocals are done in a death metal growling fashion and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard and the music is rooted in the 90's style of the genre.
Throughout the recording there is a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with a decent amount of melody and the solos and leads also bring in a very dark and melodic style and some of t he riffs also bring in a small amount of tremolo picking and the songs also b ring in a great amount of Swedish influences and the whole ep sticks to a very heavy musical style.
Cancerfaust plays a style of death metal that goes back to the early 90's style of the genre and manages to keep everything heavy, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover dark and violent themes.
In my opinion Cancerfaust are a very great sounding old school style death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Prophecy of Tomorrow" and "Bleeding Icon". 8 out of 10.
