Locusta are a band from Ohio that plays a very technical and brutal form of death metal and this is a review of their self released 2014 ep "Dendromorphosis".
A very melodic and technical sound starts off the ep before going into a heavier direction and adding in a mixture of growls and screams along with some powerful sounding bass lines and on the following track the music starts going into a faster direction along with some brutal sounding blast beats.
The band has a good balance with their music taking some very technical and skillful playing and mixing it with brutal death metal and I can also hear elements of old school thrash metal of the technical variety in their musical sound and the last track is a cover of Death's "See Through Dreams"..
Locusta have a very interesting sound with their music being a brutal form of death metal that is also very technical, melodic and old school sounding at the same time, the production sound s very professional for being a self released recording and the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Locusta are a very great sounding technical death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should c heck out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Cull" and "See Through Dreams". 8 out of 10.
