Apophys are a band from the Netherlands that plays a very technical form of death metal and this is a review of their album "Devoratis" which will be released in 2018 by Ultimate Massacre Productions.
A very heavy and brutal sound starts off the album while the vocals are mostly death metal growls along with a few screams as well as all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them and the riffs also bring in a great amount of melody and when the music speds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard.
Shouts and whispers can also be heard briefly while the solos and leads are done in a very melodic and technical fashion along with the songs also bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them, clean playing can also be heard in certain sections of the recording.
Apophys plays a style of death metal that is very brutal and technical sounding, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics are a concept album based on a science fiction story written by the vocalist.
In my opinion Apophys are a very great sounding technical death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Children Of The Stars" "Matters Unresolved" "What We Will Be" and "Occacus". 8 out of 10.
