Corrosive are a band from Germany that plays an old school form of death metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "Lucifer Gave The Faith" which will be released on December 8th as a joint effort between Black Sunset and MDD Records.
A very dark sounding intro starts off the album before going into more of a heavier musical direction that is also very heavily rooted in the 90's era of the genre and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard while the vocals are mostly deep death metal growls.
Screams can also be heard at times along with the riffs bringing in a great amount of dark sounding melodies while the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow mid paced and fast parts as well as all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them and when guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very dark yet melodic fashion and as the album progresses a brief use of clean guitars can also be heard.
Corrosive plays a style of death metal that is influenced by both the old school American and Swedish styles of the genre while also updating the sound for the modern era, the production sound s very professional while the lyrics cover Luciferian, War, Destruction and Political themes.
In my opinion Corrosive are a very great sounding old school death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Taste The Pain" "Crown Of Bones" "Zombie Apocalypse" and "Lucifer Gave The Faith". 8 out of 10.
