Opposer are a band from Spain that plays an old school mixture of death and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "Darkest Path" which was released by Morbid Shrine Productions.
Clean playing starts off the album along with some heavy riffing and melodic leads a few seconds later while some of the riffs also mix in a great amount of thrash vocals as well as the vocals taking that genre and mixing it in with early death metal growls and the music mixes in a lot of 80's and 90's influences.
While the music is very heavily rooted in an old school style the production gives the songs a more modern feeling and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the vocals also bring in a screaming style approach at times and one track also brings in a brief use of atmospheric synths and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and clean playing also returns on some of the later tracks and one song is also very long and epic in length.
Opposer plays a musical style that takes old school death and thrash metal and mixes them together for the modern era, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Satanism, Egyptian Mythology, Anti Religion, Social and Violence themes.
In my opinion Opposer are a very great sounding mixture of death and thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Straight To Hell" "Holy Lies" "Under My Skin" and "Ashes to Ashes". 8 out of 10.
