Valgrind are a band from Italy that h as been featured before in this zine and plays an old school form of brutal death metal and this is a review of their 2017 ep "Seal Of Phobos" which was released by Everlasting Spew Records.
Heavy yet melodic riffing along with drum beats start off the ep and you can also hear all of t he musical instruments that are present on this recording while the vocals are mostly death metal growls and when the music speeds up a great amount of brutal sounding blast beats can be heard as well as the music being rooted in the 90's.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the solos and leads also remain true to and old school style of death metal as well as having its melodic moments and they also bring in a brief interlude before returning back to a more heavy and brutal musical direction will synths are used briefly on the closing track.
Valgrind creates another recording that remains true to the brutal and old school style of death metal from previous releases, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover history, cataclysms, and death themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Valgrind and if you ae a of brutal and old school death metal, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Endless Circle" and "Traitors Will Bleed". 8 out of 10.
