Hadal Maw are a band from Melbourne, Australia that plays a technical form of death metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "Olm" which was released by EVP Recordings.
Atmospheric soundscapes start off the album before going into a heavier musical direction where you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and synths are also utilized briefly and clean playing can also be heard at times while the vocals are a mixture of death metal growls and screams.
A great amount of prog elements can be heard in the bands musical style while the solos and leads are done in a very technical fashion and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and one of the tracks is very long and epic in length and also brings in a brief use of acoustic guitars.
Hadal Maw plays a style of death metal that is very technical and progressive sounding, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Evil Of Man, Greed, Corruption and Delusion Themes.
In my opinion Hadal Maw are a very great sounding technical death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Affluenza" "Witch Doctor" "SimiAn Plague" and "Circus Of Flesh". 8 out of 10.
