NYN are a band from Maryland that plays a very progressive and technical form of death metal and this is a review of their self released 2017 album "Entropy(Of Chaos And Salt)".
A very heavy sound along with a great amount of brutal blast beats and symphonic synths start off the album along with some guitar solos and leads that also gives the songs more of a neo-classical shred style and a great portion of the tracks are very long and epic in length along with a great amount of technical elements.
Vocals are a mixture of death metal growls and high pitched screams and spoken word parts along with melodic singing are also used at times along with the music also mixing in prog and avant garde elements while clean playing can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and they also mix in a touch of jazz.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the album and some of the clear vocals also add in a touch of power metal and as the album progresses a great amount of ethnic music elements can also be heard.
NYN plays a style of death metal that is very progressive and technical sounding while also mixing in elements of power metal, shred, neo-classical, jazz, ethnic and avant garde music to create something very original, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover Fantasy and War themes.
In my opinion NYN are a very great sounding progressive and technical death metal band and if you are looking for something very original, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Apory Of Existence" "Embrace Entropy" and "Taken Away By The Tides". 8 out of 10.
