Inferum are a band from the Netherlands that plays a mechanical form of death metal and this is a review of their self released 2017 ep "Modern Massacre" which will be released in August.
A very heavy sound with some groove elements start off the ep while the riffs also use a great amount of melody along with the vocals being death metal growls and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard.
High pitched screams can also be heard at times while some of the fast riffs also bring in a decent amount of tremolo picking and elements of djent are also used at times along with clean playing and whispers also being added into certain sections of the recording and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and only a small amount if guitar leads are utilized.
Inferum plays a style of death metal that also mixes in elements of prog, groove metal, metalcore and djent to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover dark, violent, and angry themes.
In my opinion Inferum are a very great sounding mechanical death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Blinding Supremacy" and "Incineration". 8 out of 10.
