Soulskinner are a band from Greece that has been featured before in this zine and plays an old school form of death metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "Descent To Abaddon" which was released by Xtreem Music.
A very heavy sound along with some dark sounding melodies start off the album along with some death metal growls and blast beats a few seconds alter while the music is also very heavily rooted in the early 90's along with all of the musical instruments all having a very powerful sound to them.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while the solos and leads are done in a very dark and melodic fashion and a couple of the tracks are very long and epic in length and the songs also mix in a very dark and gloomy atmosphere and avant garde style piano's are added onto the closing t rack.
Soulskinner creates another recording the remains true to the old school style of death metal from previous releases, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover ancient myths, literature, philosophy and death themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Soulskinner and if you are a fan of old school death metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Fracticide" "Chorus Of The Initiated" "A Spectral Vision" and "Descent To Abaddon". 8 out of 10.
