Resurgence are a band from Vancouver B.C, Canada that plays a modern mixture of death and thrash metal and this is a review of their self released 2017 album "Besieged" which will be released in August.
Clean guitar playing starts off the album and they also give the music more of an exotic feeling before going into more of a heavier direction and after awhile death metal growls are added onto the recording and they also have a touch of groove metal to t hem and when t he music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard.
Aggressive screams can be heard in some parts of the songs while the solos and leads gives the songs more of a technical edge and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with the songs also mixing in a great amount of modern metal and prog elements and as the album progresses the solos and leads start adding in more old school metal influences and one track also brings in a small amount of acoustic guitars and the last track is very long and epic in length.
Resurgence plays a musical style that takes death metal and mixes it with modern thrash and prog metal to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover violent and real life themes.
In my opinion Resurgence are a very great sounding mixture of death and modern thrash metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Machine" "In The Mirror" and "All I HAve Left". 8 out of 10.
