Cult Of Lilith are a band from Iceland that plays a very technical form of death metal and this is a review of their self released 2016 ep "Arkanum".
A very heavy and technical sound starts off the ep along with some death metal growls and high pitched screams a few seconds alter and the riffs also mix in groove and melody at times and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard while the guitar riffs utilize a great amount of talent and skill.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the solos and leads are also very technical while also being melodic at the same time and when keyboards are added into the music briefly they give the music a very symphonic and progressive feeling and there is also a brief use of spoken word parts and when clean playing is utilized it gives the music a touch of jazz while t he main focus remains more on a heavier style.
Cult Of Lilith plays a style of death metal that is still very heavy while also being very technical and progressive at the same time, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover Occultism and Mythology themes.
In my opinion Cult Of Lilith are a very great sounding technical death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Arkanum" and "Night Hag". 8 out of 10.
