Duality are a band from Italy that plays a very progressive and technical form of death metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Elektron" which was released by PRC Music.
String instruments start off the album before going into more of a heavy and melodic musical direction which also utilizes a lot of prog elements and you can also hear all of the musicla instruments that are present on the recording and after awhile death metal growls make their presence known on the recording.
When solos and leads are utilized they remain very true to a technical style and they also take the technical style of the early 90's and mix it in with a more modern variation and clean playing along with acoustic and classical guitars can also be heard in some parts of the songs and they enhance the progressive nature of the bands musical style.
Some of the tracks are very long and epic in length and when the music speeds up a small amount of blast beats can be heard while some of the cleaner sections bring in elements of jazz music while t he violins when they are utilized gives the music an exotic and exotic feeling and some of the bass leads add a touch of funk to the songs and one song also adds in a brief use of spoken word parts.
Duality plays a musical style that goes back to the early 90's style of technical death metal and they mix it in with a more modern prog metal sound as well as elements from non metal musical styles to create a style of t heir own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover life, humanity, and feelings.
In my opinion Duality are a very great sounding progressive and technical death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Six Years Locked Clock" "Along The Crack" and "Hanged On A Ray Of Light". 8 out of 10.
