Violent X are a band from Norway that plays a mixture of death and thrash metal and this is a review of their self released 2015 album "Chemical Insomnia".
A very heavy sound starts off the album along with some aggressive vocals that are more closer to thrash and the band also plays more of a modern style of the genre and they also mix in morbid sounding melodies and death metal growls into some parts of the songs and there is also a brief use of spoken word parts.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they demonstrate a great amount of talent and skill while high pitched screams can also be heard at times and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard and some of the tracks also bring in a small amount of clean playing and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the music is also perfectly balanced between both modern and old school influences.
Violent X plays a musical style that mixes modern thrash and death metal together to create a very heavy sounding recording, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover dark, violent and real life themes.
In my opinion Violent X are a very great sounding modern death/thrash metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Disruptor Of Worlds" "A Piece Of Shit" "Violent X' and "Disconnect". 8 out of 10.
