Wrathrone are a band from Finland that plays a very brutal and old school mixture of death metal and death'n'roll and this is a review of their 2016 album 'Born Beneath" which was released by Inverse Records.
Death metal growls and a heavy guitar sound starts off the album and all of the musical instruments are very powerful sounding and high pitched screams can also be heard at times and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard and the melodies also bring a 90's Swedish vibe to the recording.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the guitar solos and leads are very melodic while also remaining true to a very old school style of death metal and while the music is rooted in the 90's the way the band approaches this style makes it sound more modern again and the music also mixes in a great amount of groove and death'n'roll elements and they also bring in a brief use of horror movie samples and the whole album also manages to stay very heavy from beginning to ending of the recording.
Wrathrone plays a style of death metal that mixes in some death'n'roll elements while also adding more of a brutal style to the genre, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark and violent themes.
In my opinion Wrathrone are a very great sounding mixture of death metal and death'n'roll and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Born Beneath" "Blunt Blade Eath" and "Carnal Lust". 8 out of 10.
