Temisto are a band from Sweden that plays a very old school form of death metal and this is a review of their self titled 2016 album which will be released on February 26th by Pulverised Records.
A very dark yet heavy sound starts off the album along with some morbid sounding melodies and when the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard and after a few seconds high pitched screams make their presence known on the recording giving the music more of a mid 80's death metal feeling.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and clean playing can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and the solos and leads also remain true to a very raw and filthy old school style of death metal while also being very dark and melodic at the same time and while the music is very heavily rooted in the original 80's death metal style the production gives the music more of a modern day feeling and they also bring in a brief acoustic instrumental before making a return back to a heavier style on the following tracks while they do close the album with an acoustic outro.
Temisto plays a style of death metal that is very heavily rooted in the 80's South and American and Swedish style of the genre while also having more of a modern approach, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Occultism, Left Hand Path and Darkness themes.
In my opinion Temisto are a very great sounding occult death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Descent Into Madness" "Medusa" and "Bestial Visions". 8/5 out of 10.
