Khazaddum are a band from Wisconsin that plays a Tolkien inspired form of brutal, technical death metal and this is a review of their self released 2015 ep "In Dwarven Hills".
A very hard and heavy sound starts off the ep bringing in some 90's influences before going into a very fast and brutal musical direction that also utilizes a great amount of blast beats as well as the solos and leads being very technical and the vocals also bring in a great mixture of both deep death metal growls.
Melodies can be heard in the music quite a bit throughout the recording and the songs bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and all 3 of the songs demonstrate a great amount of talent in skill in the way the instruments are composed and the whole ep also remains very heavy and brutal from beginning to ending of the recording while the last song sounds very epic.
Khazaddum plays a style of death metal that is very heavy and brutal while also mixing it in with a more modern and technical sound, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics are based on the writings of J.R.R Tolkien.
In my opinion Khazaddum are a very great sounding brutal, technical death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Thorin Oakenshield".
