Vader are a band from Poland that has been around for more than 30 years and are one of the most well known death metal bands and this is a review of their live 1988 demo "Live In Decay" which was re-issued in 2015 by Witching Hour Productions.
Horror movie samples start off the demo and after the intro the music goes into a very fast and raw musical direction along with some blast beats and morbid sounding melodies and the music is very much in the earlier death metal direction and the screams and growls are done in an early 80's style.
You can hear audience noise the the background at times and you can hear a great amount of thrash elements in the music and the solos and leads remain true to a mid 80's style of extreme metal and one of the later tracks also brings in a brief use of clean playing and semi melodic vocals and they also bring in 3 bonus tracks and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
On this recording Vader where still establishing their death metal sound while thrash was still very much a part of their style, the production sounds very raw while the lyrics are written in Polish and cover Satanism and Death themes.
In my opinion this was a very great sounding recording from Vader and if you are interested in hearing their death/thrash beginnings, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Gniew Szatana" "Abaddon" and "Necropolis". 8 out of 10.
