Deviant Process are a band from Quebec, Canada that plays a very brutal, technical and progressive form of death metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Paroxysm" which will be released in March by PRC Music.
Bass guitar playing starts off the album before adding in technical sounding guitar leads that also dominate throughout the recording as well as adding in classical guitars at times and once the heavy riffs kick in death metal growls start becoming a very huge part of the recording along with some high pitched screams also being utilized at times.
At times the vocals can be guttural and when the music speeds up a great amount of brutal blast beats can be heard and bass guitar leads are also brought into some parts of the songs and some of the tracks are very long and epic in length and throughout the recording there is a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and they also mix in a great amount of progressive structures into the heavier sections of the songs and towards the end they also bring in a couple of instrumentals
Deviant Process takes a very progressive and technical style and mixes it in with a more modern and brutal sound while also demonstrating a great amount of talent and skill as musicians, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover psychological themes.
In my opinion Deviant Process are a very great sounding brutal, technical and progressive death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Unconscious" "As The End Begin" and "Dysfunctional Therapy". 8 out of 10.
