Mortuary are a band from France that plays a mixture of death and thrash metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "/Nothingless Than Nothingness" which was released by Goregeous Productions.
Hospital sounds start off the album before going into a heavier direction where you can also hear all of the musical instruments on the recording along with some old school style extreme metal solos and death metal growls that are very easy to understand and the riffs also use a great amount of melody.
When blast beats are utilized a great amount of blast beats can be heard and you can also hear a lot of thrash influences throughout the recording and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and while the music is very heavily rooted in the mid 80's and early 90's the production gives the songs more of a modern day feeling and some of the vocals also bring in more of an extreme thrash style and as the album progresses more fast tremolo picking can be heard an one track also brings in a few seconds of clean playing and classical guitars.
Mortuary plays a musical style that takes old school death metal and the most extreme style of thrash and mixes them together to create a very heavy and aggressive musical style, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover violence and misanthropy themes.
In my opinion Mortuary are a very great sounding death/thrash metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Only Dead Witness" "Above" "K" and "Kingdom". 8 out of 10.
