Under The Church are a band with members from both Sweden and Iceland that plays a very old school and blasphemous form of death metal and this is a review of their 2015 album "Rabid Armageddon" which was released by Pulverised Records.
A very fast, raw and old school Swedish death metal sound starts off the album along with a great amount of blast beats and a few seconds later growling vocals make their presence known on the recording along with some high pitched screams being utilized at times and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording.
You can hear a great amount of melody being mixed in with the more raw, dirty and heavy side of the bands musical style and the solos and leads also bring in a very primitive approach to old school death metal and the music is very heavily rooted in the early 90's style of the genre and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the only thing that sounds modern on the recording is the production and the whole album also remains very heavy from beginning to ending of the recording.
Under The Church plays a style of death metal that is very heavy, old school and blasphemous, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Occultism, Lovecraft, Darkness, Blasphemous and Gore themes.
In my opinion Under The Church are a very great raw and old school death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Sodomy And Blasphemy" "Magus" "Walpurgis Night" and "The Trail Of Cthulu". 8 out of 10.
