Destroyers Of All are a band from Portugal that plays a progressive mixture of death, thrash and groove metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Bleak Fragments" which will be released in March by Mosher Records.
Radio sounds start off the album along with some classical guitar playing a few seconds later which also leads up to a heavier musical direction that also introduces old school metal style solos onto t he recording that also use a good amount of melody and after awhile the music starts going for more of a melodic thrash direction.
When the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard and the vocals are mostly death metal growls that are very easy to understand and back up gang shouts can also be heard at times while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and melodic vocals and clean playing are also added into certain sections of the recording.
When synths and operatic female vocals are utilized they give the music a very symphonic feeling and some of the tracks are very long and epic in length and also mix in progressive elements and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and some songs also bring in a small amount of spoken words and classical guitars also make a return on later songs and one track brings in a brief use of saxophones.
Destroyers Of All plays a musical style that takes death metal and groove metal and mixes it in with modern thrash and progressive metal and a touch of symphonic music to create something very original sounding, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover spirituality, inner struggles and corruption themes.
In my opinion Destroyers Of All are a very great sounding progressive mixture of death, thrash and groove metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Hollow Words" "Death Healer" "Speed Of Mind" and "Day of Reckoning". 8 out of 10.
